Whitpain Township's annual End of Summer Bash has a new date after severe thunderstorms washed out the original Aug. 20 event.
The free celebration moves to Thursday, Sept. 10, at Wentz Run Park in Blue Bell, featuring a "Jam into Fall" pre-concert party and a performance by Erich Cawalla & The Uptown Band to close out the township's 2026 Summer Concert Series, according to Around Ambler.
The evening kicks off at 5 p.m. with vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, a moon bounce and games spread across the park grounds. At 6:30 p.m., the Reading-based Uptown Band takes the stage for a two-hour set spanning country, Motown, rock and pop. Cawalla, a full-time musician since 2004 and Shippensburg University graduate, founded the group and books it for events ranging from military functions to county fairs.
The band was originally scheduled for the August date, which the township's Parks and Recreation Department postponed due to severe thunderstorms.
Wentz Run Park sits at 1000 Anvil Lane, behind the Whitpain Township Building. Families arriving early will find a playground for ages 3 to 12, a picnic pavilion, sand volleyball court, basketball courts and a 1.75-mile exercise trail looping the property. A concession stand is also on site.
No registration is required. The township's Parks and Recreation Department is directing residents to its Facebook page for weather updates or schedule changes.
