A nurse who stopped to help first responders during a medical emergency near the intersection of Skippack Pike and Butler Pike on Tuesday, Aug. 18, may not know that the Whitemarsh Township Police Department wants to thank her.

The department posted a public appeal on its official Facebook page on Monday, Aug. 24, asking the community to help identify the woman. She assisted with lifesaving measures at the scene around 3:45 p.m. that Tuesday, working alongside first responders who had been dispatched to the call.

The post includes a photo related to the incident.

The department did not describe the nature of the medical emergency or specify what interventions the nurse performed. It said only that she stopped and provided lifesaving aid at the scene, according to Around Ambler, which first reported the appeal.

Police are asking the nurse, or anyone who knows her, to call the department at 610-825-6530 so she can be publicly recognized for her efforts. The department also urged residents to share the Facebook post to widen the search.

The intersection of Skippack Pike and Butler Pike sits in a busy stretch of Whitemarsh Township near commercial and residential areas. The department, headquartered at 616 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill, handles emergency calls across the township and regularly works alongside volunteer fire companies and EMS crews who respond to medical incidents on local roads.

No deadline has been announced for the recognition effort. The call to reach out remains open.
