Plymouth Township building eyed in $4.65M deal that could bring Conshohocken's first dog park

A 43,000-square-foot industrial building in Plymouth Township could change hands for $4.65 million if Conshohocken Borough Council approves a purchase that would also open the door to the borough's first dog park.

Council members heard a presentation Wednesday, Aug. 5, on buying 680 Colwell Lane to consolidate the public works department's operations in one facility, MoreThanTheCurve reported. The move would free up the department's current yard along West 7th Avenue, which overlooks Sutcliffe Park, for a new use the borough has never had: a dedicated off-leash dog park.

The West 7th Avenue site is borough-owned land already considered part of Sutcliffe Park, Conshohocken's largest park. Public works currently uses it to store vehicles and equipment.

A vote on the Colwell Lane purchase is expected at the council's Wednesday, Aug. 19, meeting.

The property

The building at 680 Colwell Lane sits just over the borough line in Plymouth Township. Built in 1967, it served as the longtime home of Young Windows before that company consolidated operations elsewhere. An entity associated with local developer Ratowsky & Trainor purchased the property in October 2025 for $4,650,000, according to prior MoreThanTheCurve reporting. The borough would now buy it from that entity for $4,650,000.

As we reported Aug. 3, the borough had not disclosed its plans for the site at that time. Wednesday's presentation filled in the picture: the building would house a consolidated public works operation.
