A pending lease on the former Saks Off 5th space could bring The Metroplex in Plymouth Meeting to full occupancy for the first time in over a year.
The shopping center's tenant map was updated to show the pending deal, MoreThanTheCurve reported Wednesday, Aug. 26. The identity of the incoming tenant has not been announced.
Saks Off 5th occupied the unit from 2016 until January 2026, when it closed as part of a national restructuring that eliminated nine of the chain's 79 U.S. stores. The closure was announced in November 2025 by parent company HBC.
The Metroplex's only other recent vacancy, the former Party City space, was absorbed by the adjacent Giant grocery store. That left the Saks unit as the center's sole empty storefront.
If the pending lease is finalized, the 105-acre center would have no vacancies.
The center
The Metroplex sits at Chemical Road and I-476, near the interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the Blue Route and Route 422. The Goldenberg Group, a Blue Bell-based developer headquartered at 630 Sentry Parkway, completed the center in 2000. At 749,642 square feet of retail space, it ranks among the largest open-air power centers in the Delaware Valley.

What's not known
No timeline for a lease signing, tenant announcement or store opening has been disclosed. The square footage of the specific former Saks Off 5th unit has not been made public, and no public hearing or zoning approval appears on Plymouth Township's calendar in connection with the space.
