Plymouth Square Shopping Center on Ridge Pike is getting a new burger joint.
7th Street Burger, a smash burger chain based in New York City, has signed a lease at the Plymouth Township shopping center. The restaurant is slated to open in late 2026 or early 2027.
The Plymouth Square deal is one of two leases 7th Street Burger signed simultaneously in the Philadelphia region. The other is on the University of Pennsylvania campus in University City.
What's on the menu
The chain built its reputation on made-to-order smash burgers, crispy fries, and loaded fry dishes topped with jalapeños. It also serves Impossible Burgers and Impossible Fries for plant-based diners.
7th Street Burger has expanded from its New York roots into New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Boston, and Maryland. The chain's website lists two additional Philadelphia locations at 1518 Chestnut St. and 1215 Frankford Ave. as "Opening Soon," signaling a broader push into Pennsylvania.
Recent changes at Plymouth Square
The lease adds another restaurant tenant to a center that has seen steady turnover. Five Guys Burgers & Fries closed at Plymouth Square in late 2025. NAYA, a Middle Eastern fast-casual restaurant serving bowls, wraps, and salads, is replacing Five Guys in that space.
With 7th Street Burger and NAYA both headed to the center, Plymouth Square will soon have two new restaurant tenants filling gaps left by recent departures.
No permit filings or township hearing dates related to the 7th Street Burger buildout have been publicly announced. The Philadelphia Business Journal's reporting places the opening window at late 2026 or early 2027.
