The Friends of William Jeanes Memorial Library will hold its fall used book sale Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27, in the lower level community room at 4051 Joshua Road in Lafayette Hill, according to a community announcement posted by the Colonial School District.

Shoppers will find children's and teen books, adult fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, books on CD, DVDs and more. The sale is cash only, and organizers ask buyers to bring small bills.

All proceeds support library programs, services and museum and membership passes that serve Whitemarsh Township's 19,707 residents. The museum pass program lets borrowers get free admission to dozens of local museums and attractions.

The Friends group has been running book sales since 1951, when surplus books sold for small amounts and netted $42.92 for the book budget, according to the library's history page. The group formed in 1950 to provide sustainable funding for the library.

A spring sale earlier in 2026 followed the same format: Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon, cash only.
