Owen Magers, an executive assistant at Brixmor Property Group's Ridge Pike regional office, received the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce's Game Changer Award at the organization's annual Summer Sips & Rising Stars Mixer on July 9.

Magers works out of Brixmor's 45,000-square-foot regional office at Plymouth Square Shopping Center, 200 Ridge Pike. The chamber recognized him for innovation, leadership, and process improvements at the company, according to a press release published by the Times Herald on July 23.

Before joining Brixmor, Magers worked his way from a part-time courier to assistant to the CEO at The Victory Bank while completing his degree at Penn State University.

Brixmor (NYSE: BRX) owns and operates two shopping centers along the Ridge Pike corridor: Plymouth Square, which underwent a $22 million redevelopment completed in mid-2024, and the Giant Food-anchored Whitemarsh Shopping Center at 10 E. Ridge Pike. The Plymouth Square project transformed 94,000 square feet of retail space, adding tenants including Planet Fitness, P.J. Whelihan's, and My Salon Suites, and boosted center traffic by 22 percent, according to Brixmor's redevelopment filings. The center draws an estimated 2.8 million visits annually.

Two other professionals received Rising Stars Awards at the July 9 event. Kait Weber of Unleashed Counseling in Lower Pottsgrove earned the Health & Wellness Award for expanding access to mental health resources. Amanda Eckert, corporate partnerships and special events manager for the Santander Arena and Reading Royals, received the Community/Social Impact Award for community engagement and volunteerism.

Attorneys Bruce Baldwin and Christopher Rothermel of Wolf, Baldwin & Associates P.C. presented the awards as the event's sponsor.

"These award recipients represent the future of leadership in our region," Hailey Heimbach, chairwoman of TriCounty Young Professionals and marketing and communications director for the chamber, said in a statement.
